Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

This section answers various questions.

Yes, however in some service areas appointments are not immediately available.

We are by appointment only.

You can call during consultation hours or use our callback service on the website. An "online appointment booking" is being prepared.

Unfortunately, at peak times all lines may be busy for extended periods. In such cases we recommend using our callback service on the website (button "Callback service").

It is very important that you cancel appointments in good time and in writing via the "Email contact form": Please understand that without a written cancellation no later than 96h / 4 working days before the scheduled appointment for endoscopy and 48h / 2 working days for all other examinations, a flat processing fee of € 200,- for endoscopy and € 150,- for all other examinations will be charged.

For various questions & concerns. Please note, however, that medical questions can only be answered personally in the practice by the physician.

For the first visit we ask you to use the form "First visit: personal details and medications" from our website and bring it completed to the first appointment. This allows us to obtain as complete a picture of you as possible (medications are often difficult to recall spontaneously) and reduces waiting times in the practice.

It is recommended that your complaints be clarified by the GP first so that, based on that referral, we can schedule your appointment with the appropriate specialist.

If you have already been treated by an internal medicine specialist in this quarter (ÖGK) or month (other funds), a referral from that specialist is required. Otherwise we must issue a private invoice for the services we provide which you cannot submit to your health insurance.

As a rule you will receive a medical report in the practice after completion of the examinations.

No, we ask that you bring your previous findings to the first appointment, as we are not permitted for data protection reasons to receive findings via email.

A parking space is available for visitors of MED22 and we (iMed22) cover the parking fees for our patients for up to 3 hours. However, availability of a parking space cannot be guaranteed; therefore travel by public transport is recommended.

Yes, both the medical centre MED22 and our practice iMed22 (on the 1st floor, accessible by elevator) are barrier-free accessible.

We offer a broad spectrum of internal medicine. Our focuses are endoscopy/gastroenterology, cardiology and preventive care.

In principle, we treat patients from the age of 18; with an appropriate referral, assessments are possible from the age of 14.

In Austria, a screening colonoscopy (colonoscopy for early detection of colorectal cancer) is generally recommended for average-risk individuals from the age of 45 and is covered by statutory health insurance as a preventive examination. If findings are unremarkable, a screening colonoscopy is usually recommended every 10 years thereafter.
